In 1932, with only 5 trucks and 5 towels Sam Snookal began a linen service in Los Angeles - the very same year his daughter was born. Our proud heritage of offering quality service was also born that year, and the operation has remained in the family ever since. Sam realized early on that controlling the quality of the laundry process was essential to continued success. American Textile Maintenance Company has and continues to run on the principal that the needs of the customer are paramount. Nowadays, medical professionals recognize that renting uniforms and linens is economical, efficient, and protects the environment.In addition, the revised Recommended Practice for Surgical Attire states that scrubs and PPE should be laundered in a healthcare-approved or accredited laundry facility, not in the home. With Medico, we want to make sure that uniforms and linens are something you never have to give a second thought.Here’s a step by step look at how our service works:- We establish your uniform and linen “inventory” based on what you project to use every week. We want to make sure you have enough to cover any situation, but without having too much extra stock on hand.- As part of our quality and inventory control, all apparel you choose will be labeled with your account and employee name. This ensures you will only be getting only the garments you ordered and expect.- We determine a day of the week for your weekly rotation. For example, if you are on a Tuesday rotation, soiled laundry will be picked up on Tuesday and delivered back to you the following Tuesday. This means you will have two weeks of inventory in your rotation. Throughout the week, you place all soiled items in our specially marked laundry bags. They are picked up your assigned route representative, and the bag is tagged with a bar-coded label that identifies your account. These bags are then brought back to our plant for processing.- While at one of our two company-owned plants in Southern California, your textiles go through a rigorous 7-step Green Clean System that ensures the cleanest and freshest garments and linens in the business.We carry scrubs, lab coats, patient & surgical gowns, warm up jackets and more! All of our garments come with a standard RFID tracking chip - this allows us to easily manage our items.
